What we have done to-date
The group began to meet in 2003 and volunteered its services as a data collection and analysis team at the behest of Superintendent Cosimo Tangorra in the fall of 2004. In consultation with school staff, consultants and the Superintendent, the Forum developed surveys that were administered by school staff at the elementary and middle schools, respectively, in May 2005 — 166 students in grades two and four (ES) elementary school and 203 in the fifth and seventh grades (MS). The ES survey was administered on June 5th, 2005 in all classes of 2nd and 4th grades. We received 167 completed ES survey forms. The MS survey was administered on June 13th, 2005 in all classes of 5th and 7th grades. We received 204 completed MS survey forms. The results were tabulated by the Forum and presented to the respective principals and faculty for consideration. There were surprises and validations as a result of the data presented.
